All Saints Eve 

When veils thin for dark nights
All Hallow's Eve calls souls
in mimicked Danse Macabre 
to hide from those deceased 
still roaming for revenge.

Souling has long turned into pranks and
praying for late relatives reduced 
to 'thank you' for the sweets collected
that once were the soul cakes.
